I prefer the texture of flour tortillas, and don't have masa. Just need to get around to it- I love tortillas enough that I've paid a dollar each for them before (in countries without much Mexican food), but obviously that's out for now.j.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05488121165040555447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148735542162027173.post-6630954087475335092010-03-23T14:08:29.828-04:002010-03-23T14:08:29.828-04:00I love that your mom posts on here, way to be a su...I love that your mom posts on here, way to be a supportive of your daughter :D

I've noticed that in some of your recipes (mostly those involving black beans)you mention that they would be great as a dip, have you ever considered making your own tortillas just for something to add some calories/substance? There are a ton of recipes and this one http://simplyrecipes.com/recipes/how_to_make_corn_tortillas/
does not require any extra ingredients other than masa flour and water, and masa can be found pretty cheap. Just a suggestion because I eat tortillas a lot, so cheap and yummy warm!ogorkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10276294712375270753noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148735542162027173.post-91830583551028156852010-03-23T13:21:02.113-04:002010-03-23T13:21:02.113-04:00@mom- didn't expect you to. Hmmm...

@Maureen- I'm sure there's a feed store here somewhere, I just don't know where. I've got a place nearby called "Fred's" that seems to have a bunch of stuff. I'll try there.

I think zucchini for pasta is going to have to wait until I have more zucchini. I've already got plans for this one.

@Chris- I'll have to try that out- after I make some broth and buy tomato paste. It'll have to be soon, though- soup season is almost over here.

@Kaitlin- You could also try "spicing" it up a bit by using a more flavorful sauce- maybe something with lemon juice or roasted veggies?j.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05488121165040555447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148735542162027173.post-13544047699232582152010-03-23T13:00:35.085-04:002010-03-23T13:00:35.085-04:00Hi! just wanted to let you know that I tried the s...Hi! just wanted to let you know that I tried the sweet potato gnocchi recipe and it was good but it was kinda bland because I forgot to put the spices in the dough. But it wasn't to bad. I found it on MSN last week and have added it to my front page on Google.

With the cabbage that you have left over, you could make an enormous amount of cabbage soup with. Use some veggie bullion cubes, garlic, tomato paste and any veggies you have (chopped up) and it's awesome. Feel free to email me if you want the recipe that I have. For those meat eaters that read this, beef bullion cube are really good too.

Keep doing your thing!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14995172943488183008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148735542162027173.post-25202296655183326652010-03-23T10:03:34.331-04:002010-03-23T10:03:34.331-04:00the dollar stores down here (in GA) got their seed...the dollar stores down here (in GA) got their seed in about 2 weeks ago. they were 5 packets for a dollar, so it sounds like Big Lots might be a better deal. you can also sometimes score pretty good deals on seeds at a feed store, but i don't know if there are any near you.

as for the zucchini, i've tried it as a substitute for pasta, and really liked it. just an idea .....

http://hubpages.com/hub/Zuccini_pasta_recipe__Not_zucchini_with_pastaZucchini_as_pastaUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07008178449468766614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7148735542162027173.post-72646125753931631942010-03-23T10:02:38.915-04:002010-03-23T10:02:38.915-04:00There we coupons in Sunday's paper for Oatmeal...There we coupons in Sunday's paper for Oatmeal and frozen veggies.
