Note- 2 Cups of black beans plus onion, oil, chips, etc, is a lot to eat all at once. But wowz, was it yummy.
I also found the rest of the jolly ranchers from two months ago... they fell down beside my bed. yum, sugar!
So for this week, so far, I have black beans, cooked and ready to use (about 3c), veggie fried rice (again, about 3c), and no idea what to do for breakfasts.
And worst of all, I'm down to 1/2 a very small onion. Teh humanities!
Kinda short and scattered today, sorry. Stress and allergy-ick is zapping my super-blogging powers. Probably doesn't help that I'm writing this at 5am :)
I've been meaning to make hummus out of black beans, I wanted to wait till I was out of garbanzo's first. I absolutely love beans, but black are me fav. ;)
ReplyDeletePlus, then maybe I could get away with not using tahini. So expensive. And garbanzo hummus without tahini just isn't that great, to me anyway.
I have a pretty good garbanzo bean hummus recipe without tahini! But then, I'm not used to eating hummus with it :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't use tahini in garbanzo bean hummus, either. It always seems to overpower the other flavors. I know it's full of calcium and whatnot, but between the flavor and the texture (seems so chalky to me), I'd rather do without. I just use extra lemon juice for flavor...
