Amazing <$1 A Day Travel Food Diet! And An Announcement

I know I said I wasn't doing the dollar a day thing down here (I'd need a kitchen and someone else to bargain for me), but today I need *none* of that.

All you need is some gastroenteritis. Water (purified) comes with most places that cost more than $2 a night. So that's "free". What did I spend money on? about $1.10 for (red) Gatorade and about $.65 for a bottle of Coke. Oh, and another 12 cents for a tip. Magic, no? Since that's probably all I'll be eating for the rest of the week, I should have a much better looking budget (and a much worse looking body) by Sunday. Oh wells.

Right, so, the announcement. I've been working on a cookbook. I don't know if any of you would be interested in buying it, since most of the recipes are on the blog anyway. But I've been pulling them together, editing them, putting them in some kind of order, and even adding some extra (maybe useful) information. I'm kinda rather not in the mood to work on it today, or it'd probably be up here tomorrow.

My goal release date is Monday 6 June 2011 for the PDF version which you'll be able to buy here (if you're interested), and probably by the 10th on Kindle, and maybe Barnes and Noble. Apple store takes longer, but if there's interest I'll try to get it up there, too. Heck, maybe some day I'll get *really* motivated and turn it into a really for-reals book.

It (the 365 Dollar Year cookbook, that is) will cost $2.99. It'll be an E-Book, so you won't get a paper copy (unless you print it out yourself).

In the interests of "full disclosure", I intend to make (at least some) money off this. I intend to use that money to feed me (at least once in a while), pay for my bed (at least once, hey, it's only $4 a night), and maybe cover a chicken bus ride or two.

Let me know what you think:

  1. Oh, how exciting! The cookbook, not the intestinal problems, I mean!

  2. I don't know, I think the intestinal problems are pretty exciting, too. Just in a bad way.

Right, now for warmer clothes and more Coke.
